On May 16th, 2022, Shijiazhuang Chiyuen Chemical Co., Ltd.'s eighth emergency skills competition was successfully held. Zhang Ning, the General Manager of Chiyuen Chemical Co., Ltd., and other leaders strongly supported this competition. The district Emergency Bureau leaders Li Qingyan, Wu Xulu and others also came to guide. The majority of employees signed up enthusiastically and participated actively in this competition. The success of this competition was the result of everyone's concerted efforts and dedication.
The competition consisted of one group event of comprehensive disposal and four individual events of knowledge quiz, one person and two-hoses, light chemical protective suit, and demolition CPR. The employees from various sections showed great enthusiasm and initiative in participating and signing up for the competition. In order to improve their performance level, the participants devoted their spare time to training under the blazing sun, drenching their clothes with sweat. On the eve of the competition, the employees from aminoacetic acid section and distillation section were still racing against time to practice wearing chemical protective suits.
On the day of the competition, the first three events that took place simultaneously were knowledge quiz, one person and two-hoses and light chemical protective suit. A total of 65 people signed up for the knowledge quiz, showing that learning safety knowledge and mastering safety skills had become a common practice in Chiyuan Chemical. At the site of the quiz, the contestants were well prepared and poised.
The one person and two-hoses project attracted many applicants and the competition was fierce. As soon as they heard the word "start", the contestants dashed out and connected the water belts smoothly and skillfully, which showed their long-term training. Among them was not only a large number of male workers, but also a female worker from the central control room who proved that women can hold their own against men.
Wearing a light protective suit requires more skills, not only to be proficient in movements, but also to remember the key points. Through this project, the team members can be both skilled and patient in training, and not panic in emergencies.
This year, the comprehensive project has added a new challenge: a demolition segment that requires higher physical and endurance levels from the participants. They have to rescue injured people while wearing heavy protective suits that can resist toxic gases, liquids and solids. They also have to stop bleeding and bandage wounds. Every step is crucial and interrelated. Any delay in one step will affect the next one. Through long-term training, our team members have developed a better coordination and teamwork spirit.
General Manager Zhang Ning commented on this skill competition. He said: In our future production activities, we will face more complex situations and difficulties in our emergency rescue work. This requires us to constantly improve our ability and level in this field. This work is hard, but no matter how hard it is, we have to keep pushing it forward.
Nothing is more important than safety, and nothing is more valuable than life. This competition has boosted our company's capacity to handle emergencies, and further strengthened the on-site response skills and teamwork of our full-time and part-time emergency rescue staff in the event of accidents. This can reduce the risk of injuries and damages, and ensure our emergency team is effective, cohesive and competent when facing unforeseen situations, protecting our company's production safety.
The Chiyuen Chemical emergency rescue team will keep advancing their rescue skills and strengthening their ability to cope with various emergencies. "It's a long and winding road ahead", but we, the Chiyuen Chemical emergency rescue team, never stop moving forward!
